AUTOMOTIVE

Our sensors unlock a new centralised Automotive ADAS architecture

Only four 270 degree sensors installed in the four corners of the vehicle provide overlapping coverage, enabling bifocal and trifocal sensing for highly accurate decision making for assisted and automated driving. The overlapping coverage also allows redundant coverage of the scene so that in the unlikely event of one sensor failure, at least one provides a backup so that no area around the vehicle remains without coverage.

The ‘wavelength’ of the radio waves used in our sensors is much longer than dust particles, rain droplets, etc., which allows them to make their way through weather phenomena

This makes radar the last line of defence in an automated driving sensor suite. Have you ever seen a pop-up on your car’s display showing that ADAS features have been disabled due to bad weather? Camera’s and Lidar sensors using visible and infrared light respectively whose wavelength is comparable to the droplet or particle size, so don’t work in challenging conditions.
